Once in a lifetime you have the opportunity to meet a person that has had a great and profound impact on your life. I have been fortunate to have met that person and sadly I must report that Sensei Akutagawa passed away this October 8, 2008.

Sensei was a deeply spiritual man who’s love and devotion for family and friends was obvious to all that knew him. His enthusiasm for teaching and commitment to the development of Karate cannot be measured. He passed away doing what he enjoyed and will leave a enduring legacy.

I will miss you Sensei as your influence will resonate for the rest of my life.
